Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson together again
Country and pop fans will come together once again as Reba McEntire [ tickets ] and Kelly Clarkson [ tickets ] hook up for another round of dates on their "2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour." Earlier this year, the ladies played to packed houses in 15 US cities, and the demand for additional shows has been overwhelming, according to a press release. McEntire and Clarkson will resume the tour Sept. 25 in Winnipeg and play two dozen arena shows across the US and Canada through late November. Dates are listed below.Tickets for the Winnipeg show go on sale June 13, with the remaining on-sales rolling out in the following weeks. Details are available in the tour section of McEntire's website.McEntire and Clarkson share a backing band on the road, providing for a seamless, no-intermission show. Each singer will perform her hits and the two will no doubt take the stage together to sing the duet version of Clarkson's, "Because of You," which appears on McEntire's latest album, "Reba Duets."McEntire snagged the top spot on The Billboard 200 with "Reba Duets," which surfaced in September and has since reached platinum status. The lead cut, "Because of You," earned the country star her 55th Top 10 single and became her fastest-climbing song since 1998's "Forever Love." Her current single, "Every Other Weekend" (with Kenny Chesney on one version and Skip Ewing on another), is currently holding steady on the Hot Country Songs chart.Clarkson continues to support last summer's "My December," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has spawned the Top 5 pop hit "Never Again." The set follows the "American Idol" winner's 2004 Grammy-winning sophomore effort, "Breakaway," which has gone six-times platinum on the strength of hits including "Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," "Because of You," "Walk Away" and the title track.Clarkson went through a rough patch last year, having to pull the plug on a planned arena tour due to poor ticket sales and then splitting with her longtime manager, Jeff Kwatinetz. Shortly thereafter, she picked up the pieces, signing on with Starstruck Entertainment CEO Narvel Blackstock, who happens to be McEntire's husband/manager.
